AM CH. Eden's Calla Lily of Gaia
MAY 10th 2000 - FEBRUARY 12th 2006 Lily was a stud fee puppy from the Pepi/Jessie breeding. She came to live at Gaia when she was 3 months old. Lily immediately traveled with me to the GCA Eastern Specialty, then on to Dewey Beach, Delaware. I was book signing at the Greyhound Gathering - "Greyhounds meet the beach". Lily was quite a hit as most people who adopt ex-racers have never seen a Greyhound puppy. I must say she received much more attention than my book and I. Lily as a puppy. Lily easily finished her championship with four majors.
Lily was one of the smartest Greyhounds we have ever known and was definitely her father's daughter. She was always getting into trouble, but we really enjoyed her antics and the challenge of trying to stay one step ahead of her. We decided Lily needed to be in a home where she could receive more individual attention. It was at the very time that I was contacted by Angie Webb (Fairlane Greyhounds) who was looking for a Greyhound to show in Juniors. Lily settled into her new home and Angie and Lily became fast friends and constant companions. Angie specialed Lily for a short while and won a Group 3rd and multiple cuts in groups and multiple breed wins, not to mention winning an Award of Merit at the Eukanuba Tournament of Champions in 2005. Angie and I decided to breed Lily in Decemeber 2003. The sire we bred her to was, AM/CAN. CH. My Christmas Camelot "Royal". On February 26th, 2004, 9 lovely puppies were born naturally. The puppies consisted of 8 girls, 1 red brindle & white and the rest black & white - 1 boy, red brindle & white. Two of these puppies, CH. Gaia's Fairlane Mimosa Molly and CH. Fairlanes Lorricbrook Lola finished their championships at 1 year of age and had Group Placements by the time they were 15 months old. In 2005, Molly was #13 All-Breed and Lola was #15 All-Breed. Molly was #17th Breed and Lola was #9th Breed. In 2006, Lola was #3rd All-Breed and #6th Breed. Sadly, Lily died on February 12th 2006, of complications from a collision with one of her daughters. She is greatly missed by Angie, I and others.
