GAIA Greyhounds

Sue LeMieux and MaggieGAIA Greyhounds came into existence in 1990 when I purchased my first Greyhound.  But my interest in the breed began several years before that when I met a beautiful brindle ex-racer in an antique shop in Florida. I immediately fell in love with the breed and they have been a most important part of my life ever since.  GAIA Greyhounds make their home in a beautiful wooded setting in rural Ohio.

Mr. James S. Haring IVPepi, my first Greyhound, grew up to be BIS, BISS Ch. Sundridge So Be It,  JC.  He was the result of six generations of Sundridge breeding.  The breeder of Sundridge Greyhounds was Mr. James S. Haring IV.  Mr. Haring based his breeding program mainly on Shalfleet bloodlines.  The Sundridge prefix was registered with the AKC in 1944.

GAIA Greyhound puppiesThe litters we have had at GAIA have been carefully planned to produce Greyhounds that are well balanced, powerful, well muscled, and beautiful.  Correct structure is very important as it  resultsin effortless movement at a trot and at a gallop.  We pay special Andy, 5 weeksattention to the selection of the sire and dam, and constantly evaluate puppies from the moment they are born.  We believe that the careful selection of puppies is every bit as important as choosing the right sire and dam.

Gina and AmberGreyhounds owned and/or bred at GAIA have been quite successful in the show ring, in the field, and most importantly as much loved pets in people's homes. They are champions and Best In Show winners both in the United States and other countries.  They are titled coursers.  They are intelligent, lovely to look at, and fun to live with.  They keep me young.
